Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville with Teatro Nuovo at NYC's Lincoln Center
Nicholas joins Teatro Nuovo as they bring in person, live opera back to the stage at New York City’s Lincoln Center.
Nicholas will sing Count Almaviva in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville for the first time.
From Teatro Nuovo’s press release: “It’s a big-voiced, high-energy cast, and that is part of Teatro Nuovo’s mission as well: to show that Rossinian virtuosity is not limited to light voices. These are singers who have been onstage in Verdi and Wagner, but fully capable of the brilliant filigree and rapid-fire declamation that make The Barber of Seville sparkle.”
The spectacular cast includes Hans Tashjian as Figaro, Hannah Ludwig as Rosina, Scott Purcell as Bartolo, Daniel Fridley as Basilio, Kyle Oliver as Fiorello, and Wil Kellerman as the ufficiale.
Will Crutchfield is Maestro al cemballo, and Jakob Lehman is primo violino e capo d’orchestra.
July 27 and 28, 7 PM
